CHALLENGE OUR ENGINEERS AND BECOME PART OF THE JOINT DEVELOPMENT
Antibacterial properties are most important for high-touch products. For instance, door handles and faucets in busy areas, where building management may be interested in contributing to health on a population level. However, an antibacterial coating could also add value to high-touch personal objects such as eyewear and phone cases, with an emphasis on personal protection.
The following technologies enable us to find standard and custom-made solutions for your surface engineering requirements.
Anywhere crowds of people gather, touch-based contamination contributes to the spread of bacterial infections. Coatings with antibacterial effect could have an important public health benefit: think of door handles, bathroom taps and other high-touch elements in schools, hospitals, airports and even homes.
Hauzer has been working on adding antibacterial properties to a range of decorative coatings based on titanium, zirconium and diamond-like carbon. The results of a recent test show that these modified coatings do indeed display antibacterial properties, while retaining the characteristics of the original coatings.
