Punching & Forming Tools Coating: Hardness, Smoothness and Anti-sticking

The requirements of PVD coating  and PACVD coating on punching and forming tools are different from cutting tools coating. Hardness is still important, but forming tools coating also needs to be smooth and anti-sticking. For this purpose, Hauzer has developed a range of outstanding coatings, such as TiN, AlTiN, CrN, Al₂O₃ or Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coatings, all available on the Hauzer coating machines.

For special requirements, Hauzer is also the right partner. E.g. Nitrocoat Duplex Treatment (nitriding and PVD coating in one batch) shows excellent results on forming tools. Special coatings and technologies, such as PVD Aluminium Oxide or HIPIMS⁺ deposition of coatings, are other examples of leading edge coating technology available in Hauzer equipment. More coating technologies can be combined in one machine (hybrid technology) and upgrading with new coating technologies is always possible.
